The Shrine Circus is in Montreal! My kids could not have been more excited to attend the opening night in Lasalle as special VIP guests. We joined Ringmaster Richard Curtis and his beautiful wife Kimberly Zerbini as they gave us a special behind the scenes tour of the circus. We were thrilled to see Marie and Shelley the elephants bathing before the show and even catch a glimpse of some of the 400 pounds of hay they consume every single day!

The cool, crisp August weather is the perfect time to check out the Shrine circus with your family. The kids were thrilled to have their faces painted before the show and grab some yummy snacks as the lights dimmed. This year’s performance was phenomenal! We had a great time at the Shrine circus last year and were pleased to see how much they had reinvented the show this time around. It was an entirely different performance. I couldn’t help but admire the dedication of the circus families working hard year round to offer a fantastic new show that is fun for the whole family.

We held our breath as the stunning acrobats climbed high near the top of the tent; flipped and twirled in perfect synchronization to THE song of the year. I’ll let you take one guess. From a movie that starts with an F and you/your kids may have seen it 10-94 times already this year (umm…errr. hypothetically speaking of course!).

The clowns were fun as always, entertaining and wacky. I loved how they really get the audience into the show (Go and you’ll know exactly what I mean!).

I am a HUGE fan of horses as you may know. Erika Zerbini (also known as the Horse Whisperer) did not disappoint. Her majestic white horses were elegant, beautiful and breathtakingly graceful. I was awestricken as they strode across the stage.

One of our family’s favourite acts was the Dragomir Troupe, a high flying teeterboard act of seven Romanian acrobat performers who are catapulted high in the air. They have won awards in Romania, Spain, Holland and France. Their physical strength, energy and momentum was both electrifying and gravity defying. We were blown away by their sheer strength as they balanced five people high into the air supported by one man. The kids could not stop talking about it! This act is new to the Shrine circus and to North America and was definitely a crowd favourite.

I highly recommend you check out all the amazing entertainment for yourself. Be sure to use promo code FUN to get two tickets for the price of one!
