Enter to #win a pair of #hockey tickets to #MTLvsNSH in #Montreal #RGCL Ends 19/01

MAJOR NEWS ALERT (READ ON!)

If you’re like me, you love hockey; playing hockey, watching hockey and breathing hockey (it’s a thing). You get excited when you hear the Habs (insert any other team’s name….just not when I’m around), get overly competitive (Habs 4 life!) and cannot hear our national anthem being sung at a hockey game without getting goosebumps and a little teary eyed, READ on.

I remember the old days when we’d have to rush home because the game was on. A long, long time ago (okay maybe not that long ago) we used to have to rely on our national network to air the game and then life would stand still while we all congregated around the television. Things have come a long way since then.

In the age of here and now we want to be able to watch the game wherever we are, we want to get as close to the players as we possibly can and we want to do it all NOW. That’s why I was thrilled to hear of Rogers GameCentre Live (RGCL). It’s the answer to a hockey lover’s prayers. You can use RGCL to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs and the 2015 NHL All-Star Game on phones, tablets and computers; pretty much wherever you are.

RGCL is an experience within the NHL mobile app and it’s available here or by downloading through the app store.

Remember the part about wanting to get as close to the players as possible, what’s awesome is that during select games, Rogers customers get exclusive access to GamePlus – that lets them choose from innovative cameras, multiple angle replays, post-game analysis and behind the scenes action. Pretty much anything that a hockey lover could want and more. Think cameras that take you behind the bench and on the ice.

The Globe and Mail recently published a behind the scenes article on Hockey Night in Canada which prompted Rogers to install a camera to give Rogers GamePlus subscribers a behind the scenes glimpse of a live Hockey Night in Canada broadcast with audio so viewer discretion is advised.

Special camera features are available for select NHL regular season games each week, and for big-ticket events including the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Some of the cameras available:

  • Speed Cam sits at the 200 level, and follows the puck red line at six metres per second
  • Ref Cam is on the referee’s helmet and takes fans along for the ride to get in on face offs, breakaways and goals
  • POV Cam spotlights the hustle from inside the blue lines and for the first time, inside the players’ benches
  • Star Cam tracks a single player throughout the game no matter where the puck goes
  • Goal Line Cam provides a top-down view of the ice, directly above the offensive action
  • MyReplay lets fans select up to seven different angles to analyze key plays during the game, including goals, power plays, penalty kills, and the ref’s tough calls.

If you’re not bedazzled yet…keep reading, it gets better. I’ll be heading to watch the Montreal Canadiens play the Nashville Predators this Tuesday night January 20th at 7:30pm and……DRUMROLL the awesome folks at Rogers would like to send YOU and a guest to join me. How awesomely-amazing-doing-back-flips-insane is that?!

    everyone at the Bell Center…

  2. I’m a huge fan and haven’t had a chance to see a game since moving back to Montreal! Would be a much needed, fun night out!

  3. Been watching hockey since the 90’s. We have the best atmosphere in the NHL and it’s always a experience setting foot in the bell centre for a habs game. Interesting read above, Rogers Game center does seem impressive.

  4. I have been a habs fan my entire life 🙂 My entire family is made up of the biggest hockey fans, most of us for the habs, a few of them for the leafs -_- what a great contest !!

  5. I have never been to a Habs game. The first NHL game I saw live was in Ottawa vs. the Predators about 12yrs ago, so it would be very cool to see the Habs beat them as well! 😉 Plus spending an evening with Fariha would be tons of fun! 🙂

  6. Go Habs go!!! Last time I had tickets, I had to give them up because I was to be induced …. hope I get picked!!!!

  7. I have wanted to take my 18 & 22 yr old sons to a game for years. We love hockey & have made many memories in arenas as they played hockey. I would LOVE to take my two sons to a game but it’s very costly. This would be amazing & my two sons could watch the game together. My 40 th bday was a couple of days ago and the best present I could get is sending my boys to the game.
Thank you and hope you have an amazing time.

    1. My pleasure. Despite attending the game in person I’m really intrigued by all the additional features that Rogers offers. It really gets you right into the game!

  8. I like that you can see behind the bench scenes and on the ice scenes too. My husband was born and raised in Michigan, close to Detroit, so he’s a huge hockey fan too. I won’t say ‘Go Red Wings,’ since you said not to in your opening statement, hahahahaa 🙂 😉

  9. Hockey is big here in Michigan. I love live events but I don’t have much fun when I try to watch sports on television so I usually pass on that. Montreal would be cool. I would love to visit more places in Canada.
