This Tax Season Don’t Agonize, Organize! #GrandDIYTaxes

This Tax Season… Don’t Agonize. Organize!

Two things are for certain in life: death and taxes. The old adage while comical, is also true. I for one know little about taxes and in the past have left it up to my husband to take care of our taxes through our accountant. It doesn’t have to be taxing to stay on top of your taxes!

This year however will be different. I want to understand my taxes better by doing them at home. For starters, getting and being organized is really important. I keep my business related receipts all together in an envelope. I usually don’t keep them too organized; just empty my wallet when I get in and sort them out later.

I keep a list of major business expenses in an excel file and print out any invoices, storing them in a binder throughout the year. I mark paid when a payment comes in, or once I pay an invoice so that I don’t need to run after any clients unnecessarily. It’s easy to become your own tax professional. I’m excited to use TurboTax’s easy to use software available from Grand & Toy because no tax knowledge is needed. I am looking forward to keeping more money in my pocket. 4. It’s stressful when I’m fumbling, trying to find receipts and such. I like the idea of printing things out & putting them in a binder. As much as I’d like to be completely digital, I still like tangible copies too.

  5. I love tax season, after all I took 2 years accounting in high school at the vocational center then 2 years as an adult in online college.
