Give your child the gift of a better education #KumonReads

I recently told you about Kumon. We also ran a very popular giveaway for Kumon books and accessories. I want to follow up and write about some of the hidden benefits of sending your child to Kumon. It’s one thing to improve your child’s academic skills, but did you know that by teaching your child how to learn on their own sets them up for a lifetime of opportunities that can translate to nearly any discipline or profession down the road?

What’s more, when a child is confident in their school work they are much more likely to be independent and self reliant. These are absolutely priceless life skills. That is part of what has contributed to Kumon’s success and made them the world’s largest after school math and reading program. The Kumon method has helped millions of children achieve academic excellence.

Tips for Doing Kumon at Home:
Establish a routine with your child.
Getting into a daily routine is the first step to becoming a successful student. With a well-established routine, your child will keep up with the work and progress.

Celebrate small and large victories.
Look for opportunities to praise your child’s progress, not just achievement.

Help your child.

Maintain regular communication with your Instructor about homework, motivation, curriculum, or anything else.

It is an especially wonderful program if your child is bored at school or has difficulty concentrating. A change in environment, technique and methods can help rekindle your child’s passion for education. If your child is struggling with math or readings or if you would just like to help them get ahead in their education, check out a Kumon center near you.

  4. Yes! Always communicate with the teachers, or instructor! You must know what’s going on, close the gap between school and home so you as a parent know what is going on with your kids. I’ve been doing this more and more, the kids are doing so much better in school!
