Letting their imagination soar with Ed Venture. #ImaginextAdventures

Skipping through outer space, hopping over planets, rolling into a transformer during ballet practice and having batman scale the outside of barbie’s mansion are only some of the wonderous imaginary adventures my kids take on a daily basis. We have yet to walk through a parking lot without one or both children yelling out “I’m lava boy/girl and you’re going to melt if you step on the yellow line.”

Listening to my kids’ countless adventures and throwing in my own two cents is one of my favourite parts of parenting. It’s amazing the amount of giggles a couple of select words can illicit.

As much as I’d love to hang on to this stage forever, I am becoming increasingly aware that my little girl and little boy are growing up. My children are at that age where they’re too big for “baby toys” and not quite ready (in my opinion) for the more violent, aggressive and mature games. This is exactly why I love the Imaginext Adventures Rescue City Center for all its amazing features including a gas station, currency exchange with a figure disk activation that will either open a vault or drop down a gate blocking the front door of a hotel with a jewelry store on the first floor! Imaginext also features other amazing Ed Venture content, including Ed as dino warrior, as a fireman and as a knight!

My son is the official fireman of the house complete with a fireman’s hat, empty paper towel roll (to fight bad guys) and a batman cape to prove just how super a fireman he really is. When it comes to the Imaginext Adventures firehouse garage, it’s only natural that he is the one who gets to decide if the gate to the firehouse it is to remain open or closed. My daughter, being the little entrepreneur that she is (more on that another time), must be the banker and jeweler, after all it’s only natural. Between the two of them they have come up with dozens of storylines with all the amazing parts of their Imaginext Adventures Rescue City Centre.

I love all the tiny details that help differentiate it from other more “baby toys,” as the kids have dubbed them. The police station has a jail door that opens by a turn disk. The turn disk for the fire station magically communicates with other accessories as well which can be purchased separately. As a mom I’m always on the lookout for age appropriate toys that my kids can play with, but not get bored after ten minutes. Imaginext Adventures definitely gets the CanadianMomEh two thumbs up!

  1. I totally agree with you Fariha, watching my kids imaginations come to life has to be the best perk of parenting. My older one is more about romance between zombie highschoolers or dreaming of meeting One Direction, but my little guy is all about Super Mario and building things just to knock them down again, LOL. LOVE their creativity <3
