2013 Ford Fusion Launch Party

I recently attended the 2013 Ford Fusion launch party. It was held on the terrace of one of Montreal’s trendiest hotspots, Newtown; owned by legendary race car driver, Jacques Villeneuve.

We were treated to some eye candy in the form of a gorgeous white Ford Fusion on the third floor patio, (still trying to figure out how they did that?!) and spectacular views of my favorite city, Montreal.

Four of the evening’s hosts had prepared their own Ford Fusion videos, which were entertaining and demonstrative of the many perks the Fusion has to offer.

I was excited to hear Mathieu Darche, left wing for the Montreal Canadians, speak and present his video. The event was held in Montreal, so please note the video is in French.

Personally, I’m really intrigued by Ford’s Sync technology. I’m always connected to my phone and various social networking sites and the possibility of syncing my device to the car and using it to stay connected safely while driving really speaks to me. SYNC® technology reads text messages out loud as you drive, and even translates commonly used abbreviations such as lol and smiley faces.

It’s also great for your passengers as well. SYNC® with MyFord Touch® turns your USB mobile broadband modem or smartphone into a wireless router. By plugging it into one of the media hub’s two USB ports, passengers can browse the internet, update their social network status and stay connected.

How cool is that? No more searching for an internet hotspot to get work done . Of course the overall safety and gas consumption are also really important features I look for in a car as I do plenty of driving with my kids in tow (read: taxi service).

This car has so many amazing features, I can’t wait to get behind the wheel and take one for a spin.

CanadianMomEh wants to know what you look for in a car? How it drives? How good it is on gas? or is it how many bells and whistles it comes with? Comment below, tell me what you look for in a car and share this post with friends/family via Twitter, Facebook, Email or carrier pigeon for a chance to win some sweet Ford swag. Send me an email at editor@fariha.happilyhafsawebsite.com letting me when it’s done and where you live. A winner will be announced November 13th. You get one entry for every new medium you use to re-post. (NOTE: The prize will NOT be a new car)

Overall, I must admit, the Ford Fusion is one hot ride. Have you driven a Ford lately?

  1. I always look for a nice looking vehicle, must handle well, and at the same time be able to seat our family of 6!

    1. Those are all really important when looking for a new car. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the contest.

  2. i look for comfortable/ergonomic seats so that when you’re driving, you feel like you’re on a cloud and don’t feel tired after many hours of driving when you reach your final destination.

i love the blind spot feature that lights up on your side mirrors if someone’s in the way

i look for easy accessibility to all features at my fingertips when driving

i love a good stereo system – plays everything loud enough to muffle my children’s bickering lol

one feature i’m still on the lookout for – heated cup holders! so that i can DRINK and DRIVE…lol…COFFEE!! so it stays warm!

    1. You sound like a woman who knows what she wants! I agree, blind spot indicators are very helpful. As a mom, accessibility is very important. We’re often distracted enough (by the kids) when we drive, accessibility = safety in my books. Heated cup holders, what an amazing idea! Good luck with the contest.

  3. I look for a number of things in the cars I test drive:
-Does it have good outward visibility, or is your vision comprised in favour of aggressive styling?
-How is the fit and finish?
-Are the HVAC and radio controls easy to operate using only your hands
    -Are the seats comfortable?
    -Is road/wind noise suppressed?
-Does it use bleeding edge technology or is it using something that’s proven and reliable?
-What are the insurance costs? (often overlooked by shoppers)
-Does it have a strong engine?
-Does the trunk have useable space?
-Does it have a steering wheel and road feel which inspires confidence?
-How does it rate on the NHTSA scores?

    and so forth..

    1. Thanks for sharing your comment Mr. Disco, excellent points. Come to think of it, while they’re not immediately on my list of things to look for, road/wind noise suppression is very important, as are the insurance costs. Good luck with the contest!

  4. When I buy a car, I always consider the price and fuel efficiency. I don’t get large cars/SUVs because although I love these cars, they use up a lot of gas and their insurance cost is a lot higher. I can’t go poor on gas and insurance. I also look at the interior to see how spacious it is and what special features the car has compared to other brands/models.

  5. Great points. Aesthetics are always important and it’s a great idea to compare special features to other brands/models. Thanks for sharing.
